Lithiq is a new music record label focusing on artists pushing the boundaries of jazz, rock, skronk, electronica, trance/groove music, intelligent pop, or anything else that transports the listener beyond the mundane. We strive to produce exciting, well produced, adventurous new music to give you "that Lithiq feeling."

We were founded in early 2001 by Jim Puccio and Yuri Zbitnoff, a team of diverse talents and boundless passion and enthusiasm for creating, promoting, packaging, and above all, experiencing most types of what, for lack of a better term, might be called "art music."

Jim's eclectic background, from music journalism to operating small businesses, skills in the visual arts, including the graphic arts and photography (honed at NESOP), and many years spent as a high end media, network, and marketing software developer, education at both MIT's Computer Science Department and Media Laboratory, and experiences researching psychoacoustics at the Research Laboratory of Electronics, made him the ideal kind of renaissance man for operating a recording label that can stay ahead of the curve in today's rapidly evolving digital music environment.

The combination of Jim's skills with Yuri's mind-boggling array of projects and contacts amassed over a decade plus since his stint at Berklee, his formidable skills as one of the most explosive jazz/rock drummers in metropolitan Boston, his excellent compositional abilities, his boundless enthusiasm and all-around gregarious and friendly disposition, leaves Lithiq ideally poised to become one of the most vibrant labels in new music today. Just listen to our releases from Enuma Elish and Sky Saw and we're sure you'll agree.

Jim has parted company with Lithiq but Yuri continues to uphold the vision that they shared as Lithiq moves forward into the 21st century.
